A change of career path shoots Ruby’s life from an advertising underling having her ideas stolen by her boss into the glitzy life of a sexy voice-over artist. Music has been her passion. However, getting out of her parent’s house again trumps everything. Finding herself and her voice is paramount to establishing herself in the business world and creating a particular niche to showcase her talents. How could she know that her next audition would catch the eye of the man who would turn her world upside down?

Daniel needs “that perfect voice” to take his career to the next level – owning the advertising agency where he works, Miles & Stone – but who will make this new campaign rise to get the current owners’ attention? The stars align when his payday literally drops into his office and blows away all the competition not only vocally but with all the right curves and an angel’s face.

As Ruby learns the ins and outs of her new voice-over career, she also learns the angles and abs of her boss, both in and out of the recording studio. She has to prove to Daniel he made the right decision to hire her, but primarily to herself that she has the talent, perseverance, and dedication to overcome more corporate sabotage and rumor mills. Can Daniel get past all the sacrifices and disappointments he has faced in the past? Will he prove himself to be the right man to take on the legacy of the Miles & Stone Advertising Agency while keeping Ruby protected emotionally from his corporate-climbing past fling? Hot and Steamy!

Beth’s detailed chapters really allow the reader to know her characters. She intertwines their viewpoints which gives the book depth and breadth (no pun intended) so you can delve deeper (Oops, I did it again!) into each character. I love how she developed additional characters for her next book in this series. She peppers the timeline with hot and steamy scenes that keep you turning the spicy pages. I loved this book!

Fun Read

I loved reading this book!! I can’t wait to start #2, very well written and I loved all the steamy scenes!!

An upbeat/peppy sexually charged romcom centered around a lingerie ad production.

This is a well written novel with only a few minor errors/typos. I can tell the author is intelligent and knowledgeable, which is reflected in her writing and in her characters. A rare find these days! The characters are fun and upbeat. The heroine is down to earth, but a bit quirky and klutzy, which I think is intended to contribute to the humor of the story. The hero is a good looking businessman who is all about his work, but he seems to have a fun and spirited personality, as well as quite the flirt. The characters have insta-lust for each other, but don’t fully give in to their feelings due to the nature of their employer and employee relationship.

I would say this is a sexually charged book from the get-go. A lot of sexual innuendos, and the hero and heroine thinking about each other mostly in a sexual way. To be honest, I totally realize this is a fictional romcom, but I am not sure how the hero in his position and in his line of work, hasn’t encountered a sexual harassment lawsuit yet! I would definitely say a lot of his actions were borderline, if not dangerously cross over into inappropriate behavior in the workplace. He would be in deep doo doo if one of his female coworkers and especially a subordinate, would file a complaint to HR. But! It is a workplace romance, so I try to remind myself it’s purely fictional and just a fun story, and obviously wouldn’t pan out very well in real life. Haha! The hero and heroine seem to have a strong sexual chemistry from the get-go, and try to hold back, but really do a lousy job at it. So the borders do get crossed, even in the workplace or during work related functions.

I enjoyed the upbeat and positive personalities of the characters in this story. I believe this is the author’s debut novel, which is quite impressive! I also really appreciate the author and how she interacts with her readers. I recommend giving her books a try and supporting her journey as an up and coming author!
